Variety Mutton Curry



Ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg Cleaned Mutton Pieces
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 Onions (sliced)
  • 2 Green Chilies (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • Curry Leaves (a handful)
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Pepper Powder
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala
  • 3 cups Boiled Water (adjust as needed)
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 1 cup Cooked Tapioca (optional)
  • 1 Half-Ripe Banana (cut into pieces)
  • 1 Tomato (chopped)
  • Salt (to taste)


Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add sliced onions, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, and curry leaves. Sauté until golden brown.
  • Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, and garam masala. Sauté for a minute.
  • Add the cleaned mutton pieces and mix well.
  • Pour in 3 cups of boiled water, cover, and cook on medium heat.
  • Once the mutton is ¾ cooked, add chopped onion, cooked tapioca, banana pieces, and tomatoes.
  • Cover and cook until the mutton is tender, adding more water if needed for extra gravy.
  • Simmer on low heat until well combined.
Serving Suggestion:

Enjoy with steamed rice, Kerala parotta, or appam for an authentic Kerala meal!
