Variety Mutton Curry
Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg Cleaned Mutton Pieces
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
- 2 Onions (sliced)
- 2 Green Chilies (sliced)
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- Curry Leaves (a handful)
- 2 tbsp Coriander Powder
- ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
- ½ tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tsp Pepper Powder
- ½ tsp Garam Masala
- 3 cups Boiled Water (adjust as needed)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 1 cup Cooked Tapioca (optional)
- 1 Half-Ripe Banana (cut into pieces)
- 1 Tomato (chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add sliced onions, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, and curry leaves. Sauté until golden brown.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, and garam masala. Sauté for a minute.
- Add the cleaned mutton pieces and mix well.
- Pour in 3 cups of boiled water, cover, and cook on medium heat.
- Once the mutton is ¾ cooked, add chopped onion, cooked tapioca, banana pieces, and tomatoes.
- Cover and cook until the mutton is tender, adding more water if needed for extra gravy.
- Simmer on low heat until well combined.
Enjoy with steamed rice, Kerala parotta, or appam for an authentic Kerala meal!
