 Prawns  Masala Recipe



Ingredients:

  • 200g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder (plus extra for seasoning)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1-inch ginger, crushed
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
Instructions:


    Marinate the Prawns:

  • Combine prawns with turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes.

Cook the Prawns:
    Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated prawns until they turn pink and are fully cooked. Set aside.
Prepare the Masala:

  • In another pan, heat oil and splutter fennel seeds.
  • Add sliced onions, crushed ginger, garlic, and curry leaves. Sauté until onions are golden and fragrant.
Add Spices:

  • Stir in coriander powder, additional pepper powder, and garam masala powder. Sauté for 2 minutes until the raw smell of the spices disappears.
Combine and Enhance:

  • Add the cooked prawns to the pan and mix well, ensuring they are coated with the masala.
  • Add soy sauce for an extra depth of flavor and stir to combine.
Serve:
  • Turn off the heat and serve the spiced prawns with rice, roti, or chapati.
