Prawns Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
- 200g prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp pepper powder (plus extra for seasoning)
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1-inch ginger, crushed
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp soy sauce
Instructions:
Cook the Prawns:
Marinate the Prawns:
- Combine prawns with turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes.
Cook the Prawns:
- Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated prawns until they turn pink and are fully cooked. Set aside.
- In another pan, heat oil and splutter fennel seeds.
- Add sliced onions, crushed ginger, garlic, and curry leaves. Sauté until onions are golden and fragrant.
- Stir in coriander powder, additional pepper powder, and garam masala powder. Sauté for 2 minutes until the raw smell of the spices disappears.
- Add the cooked prawns to the pan and mix well, ensuring they are coated with the masala.
- Add soy sauce for an extra depth of flavor and stir to combine.
- Turn off the heat and serve the spiced prawns with rice, roti, or chapati.
