ഒത്തിരി ഗുണങ്ങൾ ഉള്ള ഒരു കറി || Curry For Lunch


Drumstick Leaves Curry | Muringa Ila  Curry


Ingredients

1.Moong dal(cherupayar parippu) /Toor Dal (For this recipe i used moong dal)1/2 cup
2.Drumstick Leaves1cup
 3.Grated coconut 4.cumin seeds1/4tsp 
5.Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
 6.Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp 
7.Salt 
8.Garlic 2 small 
9.Oil 
10.SmallOnion 3
 11.Mustardseeds
 12. Required amount of Water 
You can use toor dal instead of moong dal.In this recipe i have not used greenchilli and curry leaves,if you wish to add those you can include.

Method

1.Pressure cook moong daal with a little turmeric powder ,salt ,and water.Pressure cook until 2  whistle and  remove from the fire .
Let settle down the pressure and mash the dal and keep aside.
2. Clean the drumstick leaves by removing the leaves from the stem and discarding the yellow leaves. Wash couple of times and allow it to drain ( Note;Discard all tiny stems)
3. Heat oil in a pan.I used coconut oil.
4.Saute Drum stick leaves for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
5.Add cooked and mashed dal  into the pan and mix well.
6.Bring to boil for 2 minutes on low heat.
7. Meanwhile grind the coconut with a small onion,garlic(2small), cumin seeds(1/4tsp)  and a little water into smooth paste and set it aside.
8. Add the ground coconut paste to the cooked drumstick leaves-dal mixture; mix well and allow to boil, adjust the salt .
(Note:Do not boil it after adding the coconut mixture,then the taste may not  be good)
9. Heat the coconut oil in a pan, Splutter mustard seeds, add the sliced shallots /red small onions and fry the shallots till light brown. Pour the seasoning to the curry and mix well. I did not use curry leaves for tempering if you want you can add .
8. Yummy Muringayila /Drumstick leaves curry is ready.
 Serve with hot rice
