Crab Roast


Hai everyone,hope you all are doing well!!!.Today i am here with an easy ,delicious crab roast recipe.This crab roast recipe is little bit spicy because it is mainly cooked with pepper powder and some masala .We can serve this as a side dish with rice ,boiled tapioca ,Chappathi etc.This is one of the favorite dishes of my family, especially my children like this recipe most.Few years back i have posted some crab roast recipes and crab cleaning videos on my youtube channel. In this recipe i have used 2 big crab,which is nearly 1kg of weight. If you want  more gravy for this roast you can add coconut milk or a little water.


Ingredients

1.Cleaned Crab 2(1 kg)
2.Sliced Small Onion 15-20 
3.Big onion 1(Sliced)
4.Green chilli 4-5
5.Tomato 2 (medium)
6. Crushed Ginger (A small piece) and Garlic (8 medium sized pods)
7.Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
8.Kashmiri Chilli Powder 2tbsp
9.Coriander Powder 1.5 tbsp
10.Garam Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
11.Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp
12.Coconut Oil as required
13.Mustard Seeds1/2 tsp
14.Curry Leaves
15.Salt as required

How To clean Crab
1.Before cutting clean the crab well and remove all dirts from it's shell.
2.Remove sharp tips of  leg .
3.Break the Legs from shell.
4.Remove belly flap.
5.Remove top shell(Carapace)
6.Reserve Tomalley(Yellow colour substance) from the top shell. It is actually crab fat which is packed with intense crab flavor and is not to be wasted.
7.Remove Gills from stomach part .Gills are not edible and need to be removed . We can easily  tear them with our hands.
8.Cut the belly parts into two pieces
9.Remove claws from legs.
10.If the crab is too big make small crack in each of the legs. It will help us to take out  the flesh from legs while eating.
11. After cutting the crab do not wash the crab pieces .
