Coconut Milk Recipe || How To Extract Coconut Milk Easily At Home
Always use fresh coconut for extracting coconut milk. Usually i prepare 2 extracts of coconut milk. If you need more thin coconut milk you can add more water and make it into thin coconut milk. Before extracting coconut milk we have to grate coconut from the shell. Here i used grated coconut which i bought it from supermarket. The second and third extract which can be used in making curries , payasam etc. and it can be boiled from the beginning. But the first extract or thick coconut milk cannot be boiled from the beginning of making curries. If we use it like that the thick coconut milk will curdle.
How ToMake Thick Coconut Milk
1.Grated coconut.(1/2 coconut)
2.Add grated coconut into blender jar
3.Add water(1cup )
4.Blend well
5.Squeeze well and extract milk.
First extract of coconut milk is called thick coconut milk. If you want second extract add more water into the ground coconut and grind it well .Squeeze it again and strain milk. Here i used juice extractor to extract milk so i did not squeeze out the ground coconut with hand or with strainer.
The left over coconut residue can be roasted in an oven or in pan .Then grind it when it is cooled. Later this coconut powder can be added while making cakes, cookies or bread.
