Vellarikka(Yellow Cucumber) Moru Curry//വെള്ളരിക്ക മോരു കറി
Cucumber Pulisseri//Vellarikka Mory curry is one of the traditional sadya recipes of Kerala.It is very tasty and easy to make.

Ingredients
1 .Small Vellarikka/Yellow Cucumber-1
2.Turmeric powder -1 tsp
3.Green Chilli -2
4.Yoghurt 3 tbs
5.Water -1 1/2 cup
6.Salt
7.Cumin Seeds -1/4 tsp
8.Coconut -1/2 cup
To season
1. Coconut oil – 1/2-1 tbsp
2.Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
3.Dried red chilies – 2, broken
4.Uluva / fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp
5.Curry leaves
6.Shallots (Small onion)– 4, thinly sliced
Method
1.Peel the skin and remove the seeds from vellarikka and cut into cube size pieces.
2.Cook together vellarikka, green chilli, turmeric powder with salt and 1 cup water. Cook till the vellarikka becomes tender.
3.Meanwhile grind coconut pieces (grated coconut) with Cumin seeds and a little water.
4.Make it a fine paste and set aside.
5.Blend yoghurt in pulse mode.
6.Open the lid and check whether cucumber is cooked or not...
7.Once it is cooked well add coconut paste wth a little water .
8.Mix well .Cover and cook again for 3 minutes on low flame.
9. Once it is started to boil switch off the flame.
10 Add blended yougurt(curd).
11.Mix well.
12.For seasoning heat oil in a pan.
13.Splutter mustard seeds&Fenugreek seeds.
14.Fry Red chillies(Cut into small pieces),Chopped onion and curry leaves.
15.Fry till it becomes brown shade.
16.Pour this seasoning over the curry.
Keep covered for 5minutes. Serve with rice and other side-dishes. It tastes best after a few hours.
