Vazhanayila Appom// KumbilAppom

 
           

Ingredients
1.Vazhana Leaf 15-20
2.Rice Flour 2 cup
3.Jaggery 2block
4.Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
5.Cumin Powder 1/4 tsp
6.Freshly grated coconut 1 cup
7.Water as required
8.Banana small 2 (optional)
9.Salt a pinch
Method
1.Wash and clean Leaf.
2.Melt Jaggery with a little water and strain it & remove the impurities.
3.Take a big bowl and add roasted rice flour (2 cup).
4. Add a pinch of salt in to the rice flour.
5.Add cardamom powder .
6.Add Cumin Powder.
7. Pour the warm jaggery syrup into flour and mix well with spatula.
8.Mix all the ingredients together and make it a smooth dough.
9.If the mix is too dry you can add required amount of hot water in to it.
10.The mix should not be too loose or thick.
11.Add grated coconut to it  and make it a smooth dough.
12.Take the leaf and make a cone shape and fill the mix inside.
13.Bend the top of the leaf and press it inside.You can also use toothpick to close the leaf.
14.Fill all cones and steam it around 20-25 minutes.
