Kappa/Tapioca Biriyani/Kappa Irachi/കപ്പ ബിരിയാണി
Ingredients
1.Tapioca(kappa) 1 ½ kg
2.Beef 1kg
3.Onion 4(big sliced)
4. Ginger paste(a medium piece)
5.Garlic paste(4 medium piece)
6. Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
7.Chilli Powder 3 tsp
8.Coriander powder 1 ½ tsp
9.Pepper powder 1 ½ tsp
10.Garam masala 1tsp
11.Oil 4tbs
12 .Mustard seeds(1 tsp)
13.Curry Leaves(Required)
14. Salt to taste
Method:
1.Preparation of Tapioca
Remove the outer skin (brown) of tapioca .After this we have to wash and cut it into medium size as shown in the video.Remove the fibre inside the tapioca while cutting.Boil and drain the tapioca two times in plenty of water.Once the tapioca is half cooked boil it again with hot water.
If we use cold water during the second time of boiling tapioca it may become hard.Once it is fully cooked keep it aside.
Preparation of Beef curry
1.For making beef curry first we have to heat a pressure cooker .
2.Add oil and heat it .
3.Splutter mustard seeds .
4.Add curry leaves ,onion,ginger garlic paste
5.Saute until the onion becomes translucent.
6.Add turmeric powder,Chilli powder,Coriander powder,garam masala and pepper powder.
7.Saute it until the raw smell goes.
8.After frying masala add beef and mix it well.
9.Mix it for 3-4 minutes.
10.Add a little water and cook beef.
11.Wait for 6 whistle.
12.switch off the flame and wait until the pressure goes.
13.Once the pressure is completely gone remove the cover of cooker and boil it again.
14.Make sure the beef is completely cooked.
15.Open and boil the beef until it becomes thick gravy.
16.Now we have to pour the thick gravy over the cooked tapioca and mash it.
17.Leave some chunks to byte.
18.Serve it with Rice and Chappathi or eat as such it is.
