Kerala Style Prawns curry(Kudam puliyitta Konchu//Chemmeen curry 

                                                         Ingredients


1.Prawns 1kg
2.KudamPuli (Gambooge)3-4small(soak in water)
3.Small onion (4)
4.Green chilli slitted (3)
5.Curry Leaves 
6.Chilli powder 3 tbs
7.Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
8.Coriander powder 1 1/2 Tbs
9.Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
10.Mustard seeds
11.Fenugreek seeds(a few)




Method:
  1. Remove the shells with hand



2.Remove the black veins from both sides(Upper and lower sides) of the prawns 



3.Cleaned and washed prawns


4.Soak kudamPuli(Gambooge)(3-4) in water

5.Fry masala(Chilli powder 3 tbs ,Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp,Coriander powder 1 1/2 Tbs,
Pepper powder 1/2 tsp till its raw smell goes.
6.Grind the roasted masala to fine paste
7.Heat oil in a clay pot

8.Pop mustard and Fenugreek seeds



9.   After tempering mustards  and fenugrrkseeds we have to fry chopped onion(8),green chilli slitted(3),Curry leaves,ginger garlic paste(a small sized ginger and garlic pods small(6))

10.Fry chopped onion Green chilli and curry leaves till it  becomes light brown colour

11. Fry Ground masala paste 

12.Add 1.5 cup water and required salt


13.Add Kudampuli(Gambooge)

14.When it starts boil open the pan and add washed and cleaned prawns into the gravy

15. Cover the pan and let it boil

16. Add pepper powder 1/2 tsp and mix


17. Cover the pot and cook prawns for 10 minutes on medium flame

18.Add required salt

19.Serve and enjoy with hot rice.
