How to make Chena Thoran//Yam Stir Fry

INGREDIENTS


1.250gm chena(yam) cut into small piece.
2.Grated coconut 1 cup.
3. Small onion(5-6).
4.Green chilli(4).
5.Red chilli(3).
6.cumin seed 1/4 tsp.
7.Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
8. Garlic (2)
9. Mustard seeds( a few)
10. oil 4tbs

METHOD:

1.Cut yam(Chena) into medium cube pieces.


2.Wash and drain.


3.Cook washed yam(Chena) with a little turmeric powder,water 1/4 cup and salt


4.While cooking yam (Chena) Grind  coconut, Redchilly,Cumin seed,Greenchilly&Turmeric  powder


5.Use grind stone instead of mixi for better taste


6.First crush cumin seed,then Redchilly(2),garlic (2) ,small onion(3) and greenchilly(3-4)


7.Add coconut & turmeric powder   




8.Crush all the ingredients together


9.Once the yam half cooked add crushed coconut mixture into it.

10.Mix well.


11.Cover the pan and cook for another five minutes on low flame


12. For tempering we need chopped onion,redchilliand curry leaves



 13.Heat oil,splutter mustard seeds , fry chopped onion,red chilli and curry leaves


14.Open the pan and add this fried mixture

15.Mix well.


 16.Chena Thoran Ready.Serve this with cooked rice.
